Tell me about Edinburgh – Why is it so great?
There is something wonderous to be found for everyone in this beautiful historic city. It’s the perfect place for a much-needed getaway for you and a plus one. The history books will advise that the earliest settlement the Old Town can be traced back early as the seventh century AD. Amazingly though, the city continues to make history to this day! The Capital of Scotland proudly hosts the yearly Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the globally renowned Fringe Festival, and so many other amazing events and festivals take place there every year.
Now, what things to do in Edinburgh are there to pique my interest, I hear you ask?
For my shopaholics – you’ve got the Edinburgh Royal Mile to shop till you drop, and so many quirky little stores offering unique goods and memorabilia.
My Potterheads will undoubtedly delight in a trip here, a pilgrimage to all things Wizarding World related. Just please remember – if you are heading to Victoria Street the inspiration behind Diagon Alley by fireplace then speak very, very clearly.
My fellow historians will be in their absolute element, I certainly was. So many castles, beautiful cathedrals and historical landmarks to visit and learn about.
Ghostlies with the mostlies – For all my ghost loving gals and pals if you come seeking out the supernatural, you won’t need to venture too far into Edinburgh, and you’ll find it. Or maybe it will find you…
My foodies will be spoilt for choice with all the culinary delights on offer. Be it breakfast, brunch, lunch dinner or tea there will be ample options to quench your cravings.
My photo-fiends will be delighted with the endless opportunities to capture beautiful snapshots of the stunning scenery, throughout the city. What better way to encapsulate the beating heart of Edinburgh than by the perfect snapshot?
Sounds great - what does my city break experience include?
The great thing about Edinburgh city breaks, is that there are no hidden costs or extra add-ons to pay, what you see is what you get. That means easy booking AND cost effective, two very important requirements when planning a short stay in a city, the simpler the better.
The facilities on offer do vary depending on the hotel, but you can be absolutely sure your chosen hotel room will furnish you with:
A private en-suite bathroom cue fights on who gets to use the bathroom first
Bath towels – good because these take up half your suitcase anyway
Trusty hairdryer – also means extra space in your case
Tea/coffee making facilities so you’ll be wide awake for exploring the big city
Flat Screen TV so you can watch Bargain hunt at any time of day, brilliant
Free Wifi included at hotel– save your mobile data for exploring the city
Telephone any issues in your room alert the hotel reception team immediately
Iron/ironing board so your suits stay sharp and therefore so will you!
Fabulous - what do I need to know?
The bookings team just need to know whether you are wanting to stay for 1 night or 2, whether you have a 3* or 4* hotel and the dates you are interested in. Good news with this is that the experience is available 7 days of the week all year round! But please note major public holidays can affect hotel availability.
Once you’ve confirmed your dates, within 24 hours they will give you the choice of 3 best hotel rooms available for the dates you will be in the city, so you get to choose yourself which room you prefer!
Once you’ve chosen your hotel room and have the booking confirmed, then comes the fun part – planning your trip!
