No New Years Resolutions For Me This Year Thank You!

Do you know what, I genuinely take my hat off to anyone who has made successful changes for the better off the back of new years resolutions, sadly I am not one of them.  

Each year I start with the best of intentions, usually centred around treating my body better. Upping the exercise, losing the weight and making healthier choices. Usually by 6pm on January 2nd; I am two thirds of the way down A Big Tasty with Bacon with my lunchtime chicken and couscous salad a distant but distressing memory and aspirations for a better me, dashed having fallen at the first hurdle! 

What I did this year was make, for me, more realistic goals to achieve and things I would like to say I have experienced or “done”. For example, I wanted to get out more and see more of the UK, and taken my kids to places I have never been to in my 40 years. Small wins… I have done a River Cruise as a day out with the kids, experienced meeting Alpacas for the first time and been to Cadbury's World. I’ve taken the kids away on family holidays but also taken them on my own without my partner. We have had lush meals out, been to the beaches in Wales. Do you know, If you look back and think about the little things you have done, you realise you have done a lot!  

With this in mind, I intend to do just that again this year, and I have taken some time to chat with my WonderDays colleagues to see what adventures they are planning during 2025!  

 Liz, one of our Customer Experience Champions is a bit of a dare devil and fancies a Sky Dive! “Although I have already done one from 10,000ft, I would absolutely love to do another Skydive! There is no other feeling like it! The moment you fall from the plane, it is just a surreal experience that I will never forget” Liz also fancies getting the whole family involved “2025 is going to be a family adventure so I would love to take my children to Zip World Treetop Nets! It has the longest net walkway in Europe, plus 250m of winding through the woodland and large trampoline nets and tunnels... Which is ideal for my feral children!”. 

Nat, who originally instigated cow cuddling as a potential experience with WonderDays, wants to sample just that! “Cows are my absolute favourite animal, and I love that you get to actually pet and feed them rather than viewing from a distance! It's also local to me and super affordable, so it just makes sense!” and then feels taking some time to fine tune some Caribbean cooking skills would be a great thing to do in 2025. “My partner loves Caribbean food, but it’s a specialised cuisine that we don't really get locally- you're looking at an hour’s drive away. But just imagine how impressed he will be when I can whip up authentic Caribbean dishes for him- a point scorer! I do love cooking classes and learning real authentic dishes, so I will feel like a real professional with the VIP private class. “ 

Lynn, who works closely with our admin and dispatch team has big aspirations for 2025 when it comes to sampling some of our more popular WonderDays experiences! Lynn often talks about the theatre and has opted for A Choice of London theatre show with bottomless Asian brunch 

“This sounds right up my street! I have always wanted to go to a theatre in London and of course to have 90 minutes of unlimited Asian food may just sway Paul to come with me!” 

Lynn, like myself, is keen on the Cat Keeper Experience at Dartmoor Zoo. “Heaven! I love big cats, this would be the ultimate experience for me, to feed and care for big cats, hopefully with a cuddle thrown in with the world’s most graceful animal” 

Also, The Coastal hotel stay for 2 nights “Anyone that knows me knows I adore being by the sea in my beloved Cornwall, so peaceful and tranquil, (I would also like to do a "Shirley Valentine lol)”  We wont authorise this Lynn!!!.  

Ravi, who has worked across the WonderDays brand since the start, knows a thing or two about what experiences are worth doing, and has some great aspirations for 2025. Ravi fancies a Fused Glass Tealight Holder Experience. “I Would love to have a guided class to create a sculpture and it would be lovely to have a unique memento to take home, very unique and also functional” Ravi has some pretty heavy admin duties here at WonderDays, so to see him select more creative experiences is no surprise. The Clay Modelling Pottery Experience: “Being able to have guidance from a professional and work a medium I intend on using further would be fun for developing future ideas too!” 

Natalie, the newest member of the WonderDays team is learning fast when it comes to the wealth of experiences on offer, and she has Big Cats and Paul Hollywood in her sights! The Paul Hollywood Afternoon Tea – “I would love to do this in order to try the recipes from Mr Hollywood himself! Cakes and Cats combined! What's not to love?!” Also, it seems Natalie has some frustrations to vent! The Rage Room Experience – “It would be a great chance to vent my frustrations and imagine a certain someone's head!”  Hmm… We won’t ask Natalie! “In all seriousness, a chance to break free from everyday stress in a safe and fun environment.” That’s more like it!
