Whether you opt for a concise 45-minute session or a more comprehensive 75-minute experience, two distinct locations offer the perfect backdrop for your soaring adventure. Worried that your disability might hinder the experience? Think again. The seasoned flying instructors are well-versed in addressing the unique challenges disabilities may present, ensuring that, in nearly all cases, you'll have the exhilarating opportunity to take the reins and pilot the aircraft yourself.

Rest assured that these flying lessons are fully endorsed by the Civil Aviation Authority, guaranteeing the highest standards of flight training. Navigating the aircraft is a breeze, thanks to seamless processes and state-of-the-art hoisting facilities designed for accessibility.

The lesson itself is divided into three segments: an informative briefing outlining expectations and exercises, followed by an invigorating 15 mins in the air (with the 45min lesson) or 30 mins in the air (with the 75min lesson), culminating in a comprehensive debriefing. Throughout your journey, you'll learn essential checks and the responsibilities inherent in being a pilot.

What will you be flying in? You'll be flying in an Ikarus C42 single-engined high-wing monoplane, with side-by-side seats for two people.

Our partner is dedicated to ensuring that flying is accessible to all, regardless of their impairments. Through aircraft modifications and various other adaptations, we strive to make flying an inclusive experience. While not everyone may be able to obtain a pilot's licence, the opportunity to fly is available to anyone who can move any part of their body.

We are committed to inclusivity, catering to a wide range of disabilities and impairments. This includes physical and mental disabilities, mobility challenges, learning difficulties, sensory impairments, mental health conditions, neurological disorders, amputations, and more. Our goal is to accommodate the full spectrum of disabilities, ensuring everyone has the chance to experience the joy of flight.

MANDATORY SAFETY RULES – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Your Pilot Instructor will be a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) – approved flying instructor. As well as looking after your safety, all our Instructors are keen that you should enjoy your flight. Please note that this is a passenger flight and not an instructional flight.

SIZES AND WEIGHTS

Maximum height: 6ft 10in

Maximum Weight: 15st. If the flyer is closer to 16st, they may still able to be accommodated but not if they are over 16st.

ALCOHOL DRUGS AND PRESCRIBED MEDICATION

It is an offence for pilots and students to fly whilst above the limit for alcohol. The legal limit for flight instruction in a light aircraft is a quarter of the drink / drive limit (i.e. not exceeding 20mg per 100ml of blood). Therefore, students should not have consumed

any alcohol in the 8hours pre- flight
more than 5 units of alcohol in the 12 hours pre-flight
a substantial amount of alcohol during the 24 hours pre-flight

It is also an offence to fly under the influence of drugs, or with impaired faculties caused by taking prescribed medication.

When

This experience is available 7 days a week, subject to weather conditions and pilot availability.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Wear appropriate clothing, casual wear and trousers are generally best and be aware that airfields can be cold due to their exposed location.
Your Instructor is the pilot-in-command (PiC) and customers must obey all their instructions.
Do not touch, or let anyone accompanying you touch any aircraft unless authorised by the PiC.
Keep clear of the propellers as it is possible to start an engine by accidentally leaning against or pushing a propeller.
Smoking is not permitted at any time.
Enter and leave the aircraft only when instructed to do so by the PiC who will make sure it is safe and will guide you where to put your hands and feet.
In flight, do not touch any aircraft controls or switches until advised to do so. Control of the aircraft will be passed to the student under the guidance of the Instructor.
Post flight, your Instructor will advise you the best way to continue your training.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
