From the moment you meet your costumed storyteller guide, you'll be transported back in time to the Victorian era, immersing yourself in the enigmatic world of Sherlock Holmes.

During this captivating journey, you'll follow in the footsteps of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, exploring the very places that inspired the creation of the iconic detective. From the eerie Greyfriars Cemetery, where medical students once conducted clandestine body-snatching operations, to the prestigious Royal Infirmary, where Doyle honed his medical skills, you'll uncover the intriguing historical backdrop that fuelled the imagination of the master storyteller.

After your exploration, you'll indulge in a unique scientific lunch experience. You'll enjoy a delectable main dish paired with a molecular cocktail or mocktail, allowing you to playfully experiment with foaming and bubbling concoctions, just like Sherlock Holmes would in his own investigations.

Important to Note

50% of the price of a Full Day activity is non-refundable.
Any booking cancelled less than three weeks before the start of the day is non-refundable.
Up to three weeks before the Full Day Activity, rescheduling comes at no cost. We will try to accommodate any reschedule made less than 3 weeks before the start of the tour. However, we reserve the right to apply:

A “rescheduling” fee equal to 35% of the value of the tour or activity.
The full cancellation fee if we cannot manage to reschedule you.

When

This experience is available to book Monday to Sunday at 10am.

Please allow 4 hours for the experience.

Departure Meeting point: Next to Covenant’s Memorial, 87 Grassmarket, Edinburgh EH1 2HJ

The tour guide will wait for you at the meeting point. She/he will be wearing a bowler hat or a deerstalker and a green light lanyard.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Young detectives (under 18) must be with an adult.
Bring your confirmation, on your phone or printed, to be checked by the guide.
Wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes. Deerstalkers and bowler hats are of course welcome! Bring a raincoat or umbrella.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it Works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
