Start with a tour of Oxford including a guided walking tour of the city, followed by some free time to enjoy a pub lunch at one of the city’s historic inns.
Next on the itinerary is Bampton, a picturesque village in Oxfordshire known for its role in the ITV series "Downton Abbey." Here, you can see key locations like The Church, Matthew Crawley's mother's house, and the village "hospital," which now serves as the public library and hosts the Bampton Archive and local exhibitions. There's also a chance to buy Downton-themed memorabilia crafted by local artists.
The final stop is Highclere Castle, the filming location for "Downton Abbey." Highclere Castle serves as the country residence of the Earls of Carnarvon. The tour showcases its public rooms, including the grand main hall, the library, and several sitting rooms known from the television series. You’re invited to explore the castle’s parklands, designed by the famed Lancelot “Capability” Brown, or relax with tea and cake in the tea rooms after your tour.
As a special memento, every guest will receive a copy of one of Lady Carnarvon's books, offering a fascinating insight into the history of Highclere Castle.
The tour departs Victoria Coach Station Gate 19 - 20 at 8.15am (Boarding starts at 8am). Tour will conclude near Victoria train station at approx. 19:00pm.
Departing Highclere Castle, we head back to London and arrive back at approximately 7pm.
The order of visit may change from time to time.
