During this unforgettable day, participants will have the opportunity to forge their very own coat hook rack complete with three beautifully crafted leaf hooks. They’ll learn essential blacksmithing techniques like forging, texturing, and free-forming the hooks, as well as creating the back plate that holds it all together. And, with a maximum of only 6 people per course, the experience guarantees personal attention from the expert blacksmith throughout the day.
From start to finish, the experience is hands-on and packed with fun. After a welcome chat and brew, everyone will enjoy a workshop tour, followed by a thorough safety talk and a full PPE kit. Then, it’s time to get stuck in with some forging using the gas forge, anvil, and hand tools, as well as working with the 30-ton hydraulic press to form the leaves. You'll even witness a power hammer demonstration, showcasing how one of the pre-made pieces is forged!
Throughout the day, you’ll receive expert guidance, allowing your creativity to shine as you create a truly unique, lasting piece. And don’t worry, it’s not all hard work – a hearty stew made from root vegetables, chickpeas, and spices will fuel your forging efforts.

Ages 15 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult who also has a valid voucher for the experience.
As the parent you will have the choice to focus 100% on your child throughout the day for safety reasons or you can work on a work station next to them and balance participating in the day and supervising your child. You will both be provided with PPE, a lengthy safety talk on the risk of burns and my attention throughout the day. Your presence is required to add an additional level of safety and supervision for your child and aid them in completing tasks along with the group.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
