The Main Event

Experience the ancient city's beauty bathed in the golden glow of dusk on the Early Evening Cruise. Discover captivating stories of York's rich history, narrated from a local perspective by knowledgeable skippers who will guide the one hour, family friendly journey along the River Ouse.

Guests are encouraged to capture the perfect sunset shot of York from the top deck or the comfort of the enclosed saloon and end the day in style with a variety of refreshments available at the on-board bar. Enjoy local beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks, hot drinks, and snacks on this memorable early evening cruise.

During your cruise, you'll see many iconic landmarks, including the magnificent Gothic York Minster, Clifford's Tower, the bridges spanning the Ouse, the Museum Gardens, the historic medieval Guildhall but to name a few.

Please note not every boat or dock is able to accommodate disability access (such as wheelchair access) due to their historic nature.

For example, wheelchair access is only available at the King’s Staith Landing.

Please advise when booking if wheelchair access is needed.

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Adult: 16+
Child: 5 - 15 years
Infant: 4 and under travel free.
Under 18's must be accompanied by a paying adult.
All boats have a bar and restroom facilities available.
Cash and card are accepted on board.
To ensure your comfort during the cruise, we suggest wearing comfortable clothing and footwear. It is also advisable to bring along a light jacket or sweater in case of cooler temperatures.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome on board the Daytime Sightseeing Cruises, River Bus Service, and Self Drive Boats, at no additional cost, as long as they are kept on a leash.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
