The Main Event

Step aboard the iconic HMS Belfast and immerse yourself in the history of this famed WWII battlecruiser. Experience first hand accounts from veterans who lived through pivotal moments like the D-Day landings of 1944. As one of only three ships from the D-Day fleet that wasn't scrapped after Operation Overlord, HMS Belfast holds a unique place in naval history.

Explore the life and legacy of those who served on this remarkable vessel. Learn about the ship's powerful armaments, so forceful they once cracked the ship’s toilets during the intense bombardment on D-Day. Picture yourself deep within the ship during the first salvo of D-Day or curled up in a hammock while navigating the freezing Arctic convoy routes. HMS Belfast offers a compelling glimpse into the daily challenges and triumphs faced by its crew during and after the war.

Open daily, From 10:00am to 6:00pm, last entry 5:00pm.
HMS Belfast is closed on the 24, 25 and 26 December.

Suggested visit time is 2-3 hours.

Who Can Go

Infants aged 0-5 go free.
Children under 16 years need to be accompanied by an adult.
The Main Deck, the Quarterdeck, the Boat Deck and The Café are wheelchair accessible.
Due to the nature of the ship some of the below-deck areas are inaccessible to wheelchair users.
Videos are accompanied with subtitles (in English) throughout the ship.
There is an Induction loop at the ticket desk.
Free hand-held audio guides are available from the ticket desk in the Pavilion and are available in the following language options: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish and Ukrainian, British Sign Language (BSL) tour
Assistance dogs are allowed entry. Visitors are encouraged to bring identification from organisations such as: Assistance Dogs International (ADI), Assistance Dogs UK (ADUK), The International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF).
An accessible toilet and baby changing facilities are available in the shop, before entering the ship.
Unfortunately, there are no cloakroom or locker facilities onboard HMS Belfast, therefore we are unable to allow access to visitors with suitcases, pull along baggage, or large holdalls.
For everyone's safety, all small bags, rucksacks, packages and personal items may be searched before entry.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
