Who Can Go

• Minimum age for children in a single kayak is 12 years of age and they must have prior experience paddling a single kayak and be accompanied by an adult in a separate boat.
• Minimum age is 4 years old for children in a double kayak.
• Adults participating must have paddled at least once before (canoe, kayak, raft, paddle board).
• Maximum weight per single kayak is 16 stone (101kg). Maximum weight per double kayak is 35 stone (222kg).
• The minimum hire age is 18 years old and an adult must accompany anyone under the age of 18. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult on a one to one basis for water activities. Participants must be able to swim a minimum of 25 metres. Anyone not able to swim this distance must be accompanied by an adult who can.
• Please wear clothing you don't mind getting wet and bring a change of clothes and towel with you. Sensible footwear is recommended, no wellies or flip flops.
• Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times whilst on the river. Please do not throw them on the ground or in the bottom of boats. Where possible please place them in the dry bag supplied to keep them clean when removed.
• In the event that you flip the kayak you will need to be confident to swim yourself, the boat and equipment to the side of the river bank where you’ll be able to empty the boat and get back in. The experience provider is not with you on the river and whilst they are only a phone call away, they cannot help you back into your boat.
• If your kayak trip is cancelled due to bad weather or river levels, an alternative date will be offered to you.
• Please make the experience provider aware of any medical conditions, recent illnesses, allergies, surgery, pregnancy or other information of your family or group members.
• There is no whitewater on the 7 mile stretch.
