The Main Event
Embark on an enchanting Kayak Experience along the River Severn in picturesque Shropshire, where you can glide gently through serene waters, surrounded by breathtaking countryside.
This trip takes between 2.5 to 3.5 hours to paddle however, you have up to four hours to cover
seven miles of the river's best scenery, allowing you ample time to soak in the tranquil beauty at your own pace.
Your adventure begins in the historic town of Bridgnorth, where you will meet the friendly kayak crew. For your convenience, a complimentary shuttle service will whisk you and your fellow adventurers to the starting point on the river. From there, you'll paddle downstream, returning to your vehicle waiting at Bridgnorth.
Whether you choose single kayaks or a double kayak this trip caters to all and is designed to delight everyone.

Important Bits
Important to Note
For the Single Kayak experience, a minimum of 2 people (in separate kayaks) is required. It could be any combination of boats as long as there are 2 people minimum on one booking. For safety reasons, it's not possible to allow anyone to paddle solo on the river in case they have an accident and there is no one to help them or raise the alarm.
The Severn Park car park in Bridgnorth is where you meet to get the shuttle bus. This is a pay and display car park - £5.50 for all day parking. The parking machines do not accept cash. Payment can be made by debit card or online via the app.
When
Available Monday to Friday between the months of April and September.
Shuttle bus leaves at 10am and 11am from Severn Park car park. This will leave on time so please ensure you are not late.
Validity
Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.
Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
Who Can Go
- Minimum age for children in a single kayak is 12 years of age and they must have prior experience paddling a single kayak and be accompanied by an adult in a separate boat.
- Minimum age is 4 years old for children in a double kayak.
- Adults participating must have paddled at least once before (canoe, kayak, raft, paddle board).
- Maximum weight per single kayak is 16 stone (101kg). Maximum weight per double kayak is 35 stone (222kg).
- The minimum hire age is 18 years old and an adult must accompany anyone under the age of 18. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult on a one to one basis for water activities. Participants must be able to swim a minimum of 25 metres. Anyone not able to swim this distance must be accompanied by an adult who can.
- Please wear clothing you don't mind getting wet and bring a change of clothes and towel with you. Sensible footwear is recommended, no wellies or flip flops.
- Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times whilst on the river. Please do not throw them on the ground or in the bottom of boats. Where possible please place them in the dry bag supplied to keep them clean when removed.
- In the event that you flip the kayak you will need to be confident to swim yourself, the boat and equipment to the side of the river bank where you’ll be able to empty the boat and get back in. The experience provider is not with you on the river and whilst they are only a phone call away, they cannot help you back into your boat.
- If your kayak trip is cancelled due to bad weather or river levels, an alternative date will be offered to you.
- Please make the experience provider aware of any medical conditions, recent illnesses, allergies, surgery, pregnancy or other information of your family or group members.
- There is no whitewater on the 7 mile stretch.
