The Main Event

The perfect way to try something incredible, this half day flying course to the Isle of Wight is one you won’t forget!

Depart from Popham, heading south towards the coastline, where you are treated to stunning vistas of Portsmouth, Langstone and Chichester Harbour. The journey then takes you westward, crossing over the Solent to reach the Isle of Wight.

Following a pause for refreshments at the Aviator Cafe in Sandown, circle the island and cross the Solent once more, then make your way north to return to Popham. This half-day adventure in the skies provides an unrivalled introduction to the joys of Microlight Flying, ideal for either the participant or as a gift.

Each leg of the flight averages 1 hour and 15 minutes. The full training is to a CAA approved syllabus with an instructor with over 30 years flying experience and 5000 plus hours on a range of different aircraft, including light aircraft, gliders, and both types of microlight to attain National Private Pilot's License (Microlight).

Important to Note

Please note that microlight flying is weather dependent, and that the conditions will be assessed by the instructor only the day before at the earliest. We will only fly if the conditions are suitable to be sure you have a safe and enjoyable flight.

If your flight is cancelled due to poor weather conditions then you will be offered alternative dates.

When

7 days per week flying, including Saturdays and Sundays.

Please allow 2.5 hours for this experience.

Average flight time each way is 1hr 15 minutes.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Maximum weight limit: 17st (110kg)
Minimum age is 10 years old.
Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Participants should be fit and healthy. Please advise when booking if you are not sure how an impairment or health condition might affect the participant’s eligibility to fly.
The experience provider reserves the right to refuse to fly any participant who: does not meet the restriction requirements, has consumed alcohol or drugs, refuses to follow reasonable health and safety instructions, behaves anti-socially or aggressively to staff or other passengers.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
