Step back in time with your visit to The Postal Museum and discover the history of how our post has been delivered over the years.

From five-wheeled cycles and pillar boxes to a priceless sheet of the world’s first postage stamp, the award-winning museum offers a unique half-day visit for all ages.

Take a ride on Mail Rail, a miniature electric railway that runs under the streets of London and has kept the capital connected for almost a century.

After your visit to The Postal Museum, it's time to revive yourselves with a delicious afternoon tea at the RAILS restaurant at the Great Northern Hotel. This 5* hotel, at the heart of King's Cross St Pancras, offers a refined yet relaxed atmosphere where you'll feel right at home tucking into an array of pretty pastries and finger sandwiches.

Important to Note

Please allow 2 to 2.5 hours for your visit to The Postal Museum and 1.5 hours for the afternoon tea.

Please note there is a 15 to 20 minute walk between the two venues.

When

The Postal Museum is open Wednesday to Sunday: 10.00-17.00 term time and Tuesday to Sunday 10:00-17:00 in UK holiday periods.
Last admission 15:30.

Afternoon Tea - Available Thursday to Sunday 1pm–5pm

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The Postal Museum and Mail Rail exhibitions are completely accessible to wheelchair users. Wheelchairs are permitted everywhere in Mail Rail except for the Mail Rail Ride.
Accessible toilets are located on the ground floor of The Postal Museum and Mail Rail.
The Postal Museum and Mail Rail are in two separate buildings on Phoenix Place.
All assistance dogs are welcome at the museum. Water bowls are available on request from the ticket desks in The Postal Museum and Mail Rail.
Subtitles are provided on most of the films throughout the museum.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it Works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
