The Main Event

Step into a meticulous reconstruction of William Shakespeare’s famed Globe Theatre, originally situated in the heart of London's lively Bankside entertainment district.

Join expert guides who animate this exceptional open-air theatre throughout the year in a 50-minute tour, sharing vivid tales of the original 1599 Globe, its 1990s reconstruction, and its current incarnation as a space for creative and experimental theatre. Settle into the iconic wooden 'O', listen intently, soak in the atmosphere, and engage with questions as you uncover the Globe's many secrets.

Important Bits

When

Tours normally run daily between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.
(excluding 24th-26th December & 1st January)

Please arrive at the entrance of the Groundling Gates on Bankside 15 minutes before your booked tour time (these are the large black decorative iron gates in front of the theatre, visible from Bankside Pier)

Visit time is approx. 2 hours (including a 50-minute guided tour and self-guided time in the exhibition space).

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Adult: 16+
Child: 5-15 years old.
Infants aged 0-4 go free.
Tour language sheets available in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.
Guided Tours take place outdoors in all weathers, so we recommend appropriate clothing and footwear.
The usual tour route includes stairs and is outdoors. The upper levels are accessible via a lift.
Please note, subject to activity taking place on stage due to the nature of a working theatre, certain restrictions may apply on your Tour, including photography.
Assistance (Service) Dogs are welcome. Dogs should stay with owners throughout your visit.
Induction loops are installed in both the theatres and at Box Office.
Both of the theatres and the guided tours are wheelchair accessible.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
