The expansive grounds and historic buildings narrate 600 years of rich history, featuring an array of monarchs and notable British figures such as Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, and Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson.

Experience the grandeur of 'Britain's Sistine Chapel' in Sir James Thornhill’s magnificent Baroque Painted Hall, alongside the splendid Chapel of St Peter and Paul. Wander through 40,000 square feet of stunning painted walls and ceilings, away from the usual tourist paths. Recognised by Empire Magazine as "the most popular filming location in the world," the Old Royal Naval College has provided the backdrop for numerous major films and TV series, including 'Pirates of the Caribbean', 'Les Misérables', 'The Crown', and 'Bridgerton'.

When

Painted Hall, Chapel and Visitor Centre open daily, 10 am - 5 pm (last entry 4:30 pm)

Grounds are open daily, 8 am -11 pm

Please allow 75-90 minutes for your visit.

Meet at the Visitor Centre to join a 45-minute ‘500 years of History’ tour, included in your ticket price (subject to availability). The tour leaves at 11 am, 12 noon, 1 pm, 2 pm and 3pm.

The Skittle Alley is open daily 12 pm-3 pm.

Who Can Go

Adults: 17+
Ages 0-16 go free.
Guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
All dates are subject to availability, and the supplier reserves the right to alter its opening hours at short notice.
Multimedia guides for the Painted Hall are included - available in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese Mandarin, German and Japanese
Audio described tours are available for blind and partially-sighted visitors.
Hearing loops are installed in the Visitor Centre and the Chapel. You will see signage in place where a hearing loop is installed.
The Visitor Centre and Chapel are both brightly lit. Light levels in the Painted Hall have to be kept lower for conservation reasons.
The Old Royal Naval College is a large site with old buildings that have been added to over the years. There are accessible routes in different parts. Staff can recommend the most convenient route depending on what you’d like to see.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
