The Main Event

Discover the finest operational royal stable in the world and learn about the meticulous efforts required to transport members of Britain's Royal Family.

View the historic state coach, a cornerstone of coronations for over two centuries, and explore an array of horse-drawn carriages and motor vehicles used for coronations, state visits, royal weddings, the state opening of Parliament, and official engagements.

For the majority of the year, these stables also house the working horses that are vital to the King's ceremonial and official duties.

Thursday to Monday, 10:00 – 17:30 (last admission 16:00)
Closed Tuesday and Wednesday (except 11 July - 31 August 2024 when The Royal Mews will be open 7 days a week)

The Royal Mews is part of a working royal palace so sometimes additional closures can happen at short notice.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Adult: 18+
Child: 5-17 years old.
Infants aged 0-4 go free.
A multilingual audio guide is included with your entrance ticket.
The Royal Mews is fully accessible.
An audio-descriptive tour in English is available for blind or partially-sighted visitors.
The general tour is available in British Sign Language as a video tour. Subtitles are included. For hard of hearing visitors the multi-media handsets are T-coil compatible and equipped with volume control and neck loops are also available on request. Please note that the technology is not compatible with all hearing aids – a printed version of the multimedia guide script is available on request.
Guide, hearing and assistance animals are welcome.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it Works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
