The Main Event

Visit the Royal Observatory, the birthplace of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), and stand on the world-renowned Meridian Line. Enjoy sweeping views of London, spanning Greenwich Royal Park, the City of London and the River Thames.

As the historic centre of British astronomy and GMT, the Observatory was established in the 17th century and designed by Sir Christopher Wren. It was here that eminent scientists of the era accurately charted the stars, aiding maritime navigation.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Adult: 16+
Child: 4-15 yrs old
Infants under 4 go free.
Disabled Access: Most areas of the Observatory are fully accessible; however, older buildings have restricted access.
Downloadable audio guide commentary is available in English, German, Spanish, French and Italian.
British Sign Language supported and subtitled film and touchscreens are available at selected points within the permanent galleries across all our sites.
The Royal Observatory audio guide is also available with British Sign Language.
Induction loops for hearing aids are fitted at all site information desks.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
