Over the course of this 3-hour workshop, you'll learn the time-honoured art of making a traditional Melton Mowbray Pork Pie, one of Britain’s most iconic savoury treats. Guided step-by-step by expert pie makers, you’ll discover the secrets behind that famous hot water crust pastry, how to pack it with the perfect pork filling, and even how to make the gelatine that gives these pies their signature finish.

By the end, you’ll have crafted your own Melton Mowbray Pork Pie to take home and bake or freeze to eat at a later date. You’ll also take home a freshly baked pork pie, ready to eat and enjoy straight away.

And because making pork pies is hungry work, you'll also take away a classic ploughman’s lunch. Think cheese, crackers, pork pie, salad, cake and bottles of water, all served with cutlery and napkins in sustainable packaging with a reusable bag to carry it away.

Please note, you'll be part of a group for this experience.

Ploughman's Lunch - Serves 2 people
This will be provided in a sharing box as a takeaway for you to enjoy before or after your pie making experience.

When

This experience is available on Saturday's and Sunday's, with morning and afternoon sessions.

It's recommended to book around 6 weeks in advance due to high demand.

The workshop will take 3 hours.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Minimum age is 10 years old.
Any child under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Please speak with the experience provider when booking if you have additional needs or need mobility assistance. Every effort will be made to accommodate special needs accordingly.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
