The Main Event

Immerse yourself in the wonderful benefits of cold water swimming with an experience that will take your breath away (quite literally).

From waterfall pools and lakes to salty sea waves, you'll have the chance to explore the rugged outdoors and experience the invigorating freedom of wild water swimming. With the private one-to-one experience, it will be just you, your guide, and up to 3 friends or family members you choose to join you. With the open swimming session you will share the experience with up to 3 other people.

This wild swimming adventure is perfect for all abilities and skill levels. Whether you think of yourself as slow, need frequent breaks, or have a chronic health condition, everyone is welcome. You won’t be expected to do anything you’re not comfortable with, so you can fully relax and let the cold water work its magic, boosting your mood, improving circulation, and enhancing your overall wellbeing.

Between each swim spot, you'll get to enjoy refreshing walks through stunning natural landscapes, adding another layer of wonder to this wellness experience.

Private & Open Sessions

For the private experience, it's just you, your guide, and up to 3 friends or family members you choose. For the open swimming session, you'll share the experience with up to 3 other people.

Locations

This experience can take place in and around Northumberland, in locations such as the Cheviots, North Pennines, parts of the Lake District, the Howgills, the Scottish Borders, County Durham, and large stretches of the North East coast.

Adverse Weather Conditions

This experience will go ahead come rain or shine. However, in the event of adverse weather conditions, such as thunderstorms, flooding, or high surf, your experience may be postponed or moved to an alternative location.

Please let us know of any health conditions or concerns upon booking.

When

This experience runs seven days a week at various time slots throughout the day (subject to availability)

3-4 hour outdoor adventure

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

You need to be able to swim at least one type of stroke.
The minimum age for this experience is 12 years old.
Children aged 12 and over must be accompanied by an adult.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it Works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.

FAQs

What do I need to bring with me?

A swimsuit or shorts for the water. Feel free to wear a burkini, t-shirt and shorts, or leggings.
Waterproof walking boots or shoes, as it can get very muddy.
Warm, comfortable clothes for walking.
An extra warm layer to wear after wild swimming.
A waterproof jacket.
Waterproof over-trousers if the weather is bad. We'll be going out rain or shine unless there's a storm!
A warm hat for the wind and to warm up after the swim.
Gloves, as your hands can get surprisingly cold after swimming, even in the summer.
A sun hat and sunglasses on sunny days.
Walking socks.
Rucksack.
Walking poles if needed.
Swimming or diving shoes to protect your feet from rocks and weever fish.
Swimming or diving gloves to keep your hands warm.
A wetsuit for winter and early spring swims.
A towel or changing robe.
A flask for a hot drink post-swim.
A water bottle, at least 1 litre in size.
A filled hot water bottle if you feel you need it.
A sit mat to keep your bum dry.
Sunscreen, at least SPF 30.
Plenty of food and snacks.
A swim hat to protect your hair if desired.
Any medications you might need on the day.
