The Main Event

Choose a York river cruise and you’re choosing to see the beautiful city from a great vantage point! Frequent round trip departures from King’s Staith and Lendal Bridge give you the best chance to choose a convenient launch site for you.

On your cruise, you'll see numerous iconic city landmarks such as the stunning Gothic York Minster, Clifford's Tower—the lone remaining fortification of the castle that dominated York post-1066, the various bridges over the Ouse, the tranquil Museum Gardens, the medieval Guildhall and much more.

Please note not every boat or dock is able to accommodate disability access (such as wheelchair access) due to their historic nature.

For example, wheelchair access is only available at the King’s Staith Landing.

Please advise when booking if wheelchair access is needed.

When

Availability is very good for this experience and bookings can often be made within 24 to 48 hours.

There are four guaranteed cruises from each of the landings:

King's Staith Landing: 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, 15:00.

Lendal Bridge Landing: 10:40, 12:10, 13:40, 15:10.

Many more trips operate throughout the day, sometimes departing every 30-45 mins - times are displayed at the landings.

Validity

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

Who Can Go

Adult: 16+
Child: 5 - 15 years
Infant: 4 and under travel free.
Under 18's must be accompanied by a paying adult.
All boats have a bar and restroom facilities available.
Cash and card are accepted on board.
To ensure your comfort during the cruise, we suggest wearing comfortable clothing and footwear. It is also advisable to bring along a light jacket or sweater in case of cooler temperatures.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome on board the Daytime Sightseeing Cruises, River Bus Service, and Self Drive Boats, at no additional cost, as long as they are kept on a leash.

What about Insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it Works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
